A Lesson On Consistency…
If I were to ask you what EVERY great Marketer in our industry has in common, what would you answer? An e-mail list? Great copywriting skills? Mastery over a form of paid traffic?
Well… those are all good guesses… and in all honesty EVERY 6 or 7 figure earner DOES have an e-mail list… But besides that, everyone has their own special strengths. Some are experts at closing sales through webinars (think Frank Kern), others are masters at E-mail Marketing (think Daegan Smith), and others are masters at creating sales videos and funnels that convert like clockwork (think Tim Erway).
But there’s one trait that each of these now HUGE Marketers have in common which GOT THEM TO WHERE THEY ARE TODAY.
That trait… CONSISTENCY.
Each of these almost celebrity Marketers learned a skill, and then CONSISTENTLY APPLIED IT IN THEIR BUSINESS’S day in and day out which in turn LEAD TO MASTERY.
Do you really think that Daegan Smith was as skilled at writing e-mails that drive sales 10 years ago and before he wrote the 10,000+ e-mails he has written over the years? NO. Of course not.
Do you really think Frank Kern closed 25% of his webinar attendees like he can today on the first webinar he ran? Well maybe he did… Frank’s kinda a freak like that. 😉 But probably not.
Do you think that Tim Erways first Video Sales letter converted like his do nowadays? No… Most definitely not.
But that didn’t keep each of these now 8 figure earners from consistently and persistently applying what skills they DID have, fine tuning the process, and then repeating. Over and over and over again.
So your lesson on consistency for the day is:
Consistency breeds mastery.
There’s no way to become a 5.0 level tennis player (I’m a tennis player so bare with me), without progressing from the levels of 3.0-3.5, 3.5 -4.0, 4.0- 4.5, and then finally 5.0. And there’s no humanly way to continue and improve without practicing the skills you have TODAY on a regular basis as an investment in your skills for the future. You couldn’t expect to ever level up if you only got on a tennis court 1-2 times a week. It’s just common sense. The people who make progress are the ones who’re out there grinding 5-7 times a week and sometimes 2 times a day. It’s simply how the process works.
Your skills in your business are NO DIFFERENT.
If you want to become a better Marketer, take the skills that you have today, and apply them day in and day out. If you feel you’re pretty good at talking to prospects on the phone… you better make sure you dial 10 numbers a day. If you’re feeling like you’re better at e-mail marketing and copywriting (selling through story telling), you damn well better be writing an entertaining story for your audience EVERY SINGLE DAY. If you’re looking to leverage Facebook Ads to build an audience and sell an opportunity or product, you better be placing ads and engaging with your audience on a daily.
No matter what you’re doing, you NEED to be consistent. Why?
Consistency = More Eyeballs On You = A Powerful Personal Brand
So lets take a second and review just a few of the more consistent individuals in our industry and the effects that their consistency has produced:
Ray Higdon: Ray Higdon is the TOP PRODUCER in his Network Marketing opportunity, and sells over $200,000 worth of his own information products off of his blog every month. Over the past 5 years, I’d say that there hasn’t been a week where Ray hasn’t produced at-least 5 blog posts a week. This has resulted in his blog reaching an Alexa ranking of under 20,000, and JV deals with one of the biggest companies in our space, Magnetic Sponsoring, for his product Pro Blog Academy.
Daegan Smith: During Daegans rise to the top, Daegan was known for e-mailing his list 2x EVERY SINGLE DAY. Once in the morning with a story and informative e-mail, and once in the evening with a more promotional e-mail. Deagan kept this up for over 3 years, and as a result he built up one of the largest and most responsive e-mail lists in our industry. Daegan is a 7 figure annual earner, and has done well over $20,000,000 in sales in his career.
Eric Worre: Eric founded Network Marketing Pro in 2009, and since has produced over 1100 vidoes, and held events for the industry 3-4 times a year, each and every year. Eric now has one of THE BIGGEST fan pages in the Network Marketing space with over 400,000 likes, and one of, if not THE MOST responsive e-mail lists (right up there with Daegan) in our industry. Eric routinely beats out individuals with e-mail lists 4x his size when promoting launches. His list is CRAZY responsive due to the CONSISTENT VALUE he’s added to the Marketplace.
The moral of the story:
Consistently showing up in front of your target audience and consistently providing value to your marketplace can build a powerful brand that positions you as the expert and authority in your marketplace… And that brand name and position is going to be your #1 greatest asset longterm. Remember… this industry is all about building YOU Inc. Vs. Building a companies team or organization. You’re the only thing that’s guaranteed to be there in the future, and CONSISTENCY with your Marketing and Content Creation is the ONLY THING that’s going to build YOU Inc. longterm.
So what do you think? Is there another element in business that’s more important than consistency? Are you consistent, or do you struggle with consistency in your business? Lemme know w a quick comment below!
To Success, Yours and Mine.
P.S. Have you claimed for FREE MP3 recording of the training I recently had with 8 figure earner Daegan Smith? If not, GRAB IT HERE. In the training Daegan reveals: What it takes to be the best of the best, how to immediately separate yourself from the masses, the ultimate enemy of focus and personal productivity, and the ONE THING that 3 of this 8 figure earning students, Jonathan Budd, Matt Lloyd, and Dave Wood have in common that is responsible for their results.
