Online Marketing Strategies: Direct Response V.S. Passive Traffic/Lead Generation
There are two main types of traffic and lead generation that you can tap into online… Direct response forms, and passive forms. Both online marketing strategies can be extremely effective, and they each have their place in where they should fit into your business’s.
Your direct response online marketing strategy is what will allow you to go quickly in your business. It’s what will allow you to build your list, make sales, and begin the process of Marketplace positioning quickly. We all know that “the money is in the list”, and that once we’ve built a list of subscribers who know, like, and trust us, even love us, we’ve built ourself a not only sustainable, but also profitable business. Again, this is where your direct response online marketing strategy comes into play. By leveraging direct response forms of traffic and lead generation, you’ll be able to build your list and your business FAST.
A few forms of direct response traffic and lead generation you should considerer in your online marketing strategy would be:
- Solo Ads
- Facebook PPC
- Search Engine PPC
- Banner Advertising
- PPV Marketing
Choose one, and focus of mastering that form of traffic generation. If you’re very new to the Online Marketing world, I’d recommend starting with Solo Ads as the medium to leverage in your direct response online marketing strategy. If you’re a little bit more advanced, maybe try facebook ppc, search engine ppc, or banner advertising. Leave the PPV for when you reach the level of the elite.
Your passive online marketing strategy is what will allow you to position yourself in the Marketplace as a leader and an authority longterm, and which will begin to generate leads for you 3-4 months down the road after consistently implementing whatever form of passive traffic and lead generation your choose. It’s what you need to focus on for long-term business sustainability. Implementing a passive form of traffic generation in your online marketing strategy is one thing that every true entrepreneur does. True entrepreneurs always focus on what will set their business’s up for long-term success vs. making a quick buck… And that’s where your passive form of online marketing fits into your overall online marketing strategy.
The forms of passive traffic and lead generation I recommend you implement immediately in your online marketing strategy are:
- Youtube Videos
Youtube is the 3rd ranked site on Alexa, meaning that it gets the third largest amount of traffic only behind google and Facebook. Get your videos on Youtube, people will see them, and include a link to your capture page in your description. A certain percentage of people will click that link and become leads and sale.
Having a blog and consistently adding content to it, and then sending your e-mail list back to your blog will position yourself as a leader and authority to your list’s subscribers, thus increasing rapport and responsiveness. Also, over a period of time, your blog will attract more traffic from shares and back-links, in turn leading to passive lead generation.
In conclusion, you need to implement both passive and direct response forms of online marketing strategies in your business. They both have pros and cons, but they both serve different purposes for you and your business.
