The Secret To Making More Sales And Profits In Any Marketplace…
Most people struggle to make sales and profits with there business’s.
They write blog post after blog post and shoot video after video, only to ever generate a few leads here and there, and rarely if ever make any real sales.
They spend all day setting up complicated ads in the “power editor”, or trying to learn ridiculous keyword algorithms that will allow them to “game the system” and get “free traffic”.
They’re sold an oversimplified dream of what “Internet Marketing” is and forget that as salespeople at a core level, what we get paid to do online or off, is to Influence people. The only time you ever make money is when you sell something.
Internet Marketing is simply a medium through which you can apply direct response marketing strategies in order to reach a broader audience, and thus make more sales and profits (IF you use the medium correctly).
In the end though, once again… The only determining factor to whether or not you make money is whether or not you actually know how to sell.
Focusing on all of what I described above (creating an endless amount of content in every which form) will do NOTHING for your bottomline, and will actually only make things WORSE (if you don’t make one vital change) based on the fact that you’ll be doing more and more work, with less and less to show for it, with more and more frustration.
So having said that… in todays, post, I want to talk about a few words that will get you making more sales and more profits, with LESS over-all work, and LESS overall resistance.
Empathy and Identification.
We’ve all heard that people buy from people that they know, like, and trust… Right?
I know I have, and I know from experience that it’s 100% true.
The problem is that most people have NO CLUE how to effectively build “know, like, and trust”, and as a result waste a TON of time, effort, and energy, and never actually breakthrough the way they could.
They shoot videos, host podcast shows, write blog post after blog post, and are left with little to nothing to show for it.
They do all of these things in hopes of creating a relationship with their audience (or even worse, build there audience)… Without ever stepping back and asking, “What actually creates the sense of know like and trust?”.
As a result, there content has zero impact, no-one ever listens or follows, and no-one ever buys.
What actually creates know like and trust leads us back to those few words… Empathy and Identification.
When people feel as if you have empathy with there situation… When they feel like you’ve been exactly where they are and have felt there struggle… When they feel as if you’ve felt there pains and know how much they suck… When they feel as if you’ve walked a mine in there shoes, they naturally trust you.
In short, when people feel as if you understand them on a deep level, they naturally feel as if they should trust you.
The truth is that you can build trust very, very, very quickly… If you do things correctly.
It doesn’t need to take months or years, and it doesn’t need to be a long, drawn out, “content filled” process.
You simply have to have a process in place that gets your prospects to understand that you truly do understand and identify with there pain, and that you actually care about helping them through it.
After they feel as if you truly do understand them, they’ll continue to tune into your marketing, engage with your offers, and buy your products.
You’ll build loyal fans, and as a result will make more sales than most all of your competitors.
Should you shoot videos? Yes.
Should you host podcast shows? Yes.
Should you create content? Yes.
Should you use every medium possible to build a relationship? Yes.
But remember… If you don’t use them correctly, and don’t use REAL psychology in your Marketing, nothing will ever happen.
They key to being able to build identification and empathy…
You need to be able to describe your prospects problems more clearly (as at-least as clearly) than they can.
You need to be able to bring new meaning to them, and you need to be able to bring clarity to them as to why what they’re trying to do simply isn’t working.
As an example…
At the begging of this post, I noted…

That was me describing my target markets pains and creating a sense of empathy with them. Based on me saying that, they feel like I understand what they’re doing and like I’ve walked a mile in their shoes (after-all, I actually have).
Then I brought light to the the REAL issue (people look at Internet Marketing differently than any other form of direct response marketing and forget that they actually need to know how to sell)…
…And then I pointed out the real solution which would actually help them move forward… Truly knowing who your target market is and creating identification and empathy with them.
In taking the time to describe what my prospects were going through, and then in redefining the actual issue, I created a sense of trust with my readers (or I think I did :)), and created a demand for what I had to offer (if I would have been selling something, that’s where I would have had a call to action for a product or service in the content) – in this case, empathy.
The goal of this post isn’t to sell you something though… the goal of this post is to simply get you to understand the power of using identification and empathy in your Marketing, and to get you to understand that all of the tactics that you’re taught will NEVER work if you don’t address the CORE issue at play, and don’t ACTUALLY learn how to influence people using REAL psychology.
So if you’re not currently seeing the kind of results you’d like to in your business… take a breathe from your insane blog post creation schedule, hold up on creating those 48 Youtube videos, and chill on hosting all of those podcast episodes. Take a little while to learn REAL tried and true DIRECT RESPONSE Marketing, and then dive back in.
If you do, all of your marketing will be 10X more responsive, and you’ll begin to finally make the sales you feel like you’re ACTUALLY deservant of.
