21 Irrefutable Laws Of Leadership, Law #3: The Law Of Process

Law #3 of the 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership is in my opinion, one of, if not the most import laws to be aware of, and to fully embrace.

That law: The Law Of Process. 

Developing leadership, just like anything else is A PROCESS. It’s something that you increase daily through hard work, persistence, and beating away at your craft. Remember, the 2nd Law of the 21 Irrefutable Laws Of Leadership was “The Law Of Influence”, and stated that “leadership is influence, nothing more, and nothing less”.

The important thing to remember: Anyone can BECOME a person of influence, but no-one is born as a person of influence. It’s the individuals who embrace THE PROCESS, realize that life is a journey vs. a destination, and take consistent strategic action in whatever field they may be in who slowly but surely build up influence in their Marketplace.

Trust the process: One of the biggest things that holds people back is the simple fact that they don’t trust the process. They come up with excuses for why the process won’t work for them, usually because of past failures they’ve endured. This keeps them from ever starting the process, which in turn leads to them never reaping the rewards that the process sows. 

One of the most important things to remember is the fact that ANYONE who has influence in ANY MARKETPLACE has failed plenty of times, and usually more often than they’ve succeeded. The only difference between the person who never “makes it”, and them, is that they didn’t stop trusting the process. They kept going and stayed positive. They got through their “winter” with a “summer” attitude (Jim Rohn followers will understand the termanology).

One of my mentors, Tim Erway from Elite Marketing Pro has a saying that addresses this topic perfectly, “success rewards the individual who is persistent and consistent, not the individual with the most talent”. Or in other words, success rewards the individual who trusts, and sticks to the process.

Remember, leadership is influence, nothing more, and nothing less… And influence is built through embracing the process.
