How To Become An Entrepreneur: How To Know You’ve Truly Stepped Into Being An Entrepreneur

In the home based business industry there is an unfortunate ratio of true entrepreneurs to wannabepreneurs. Most people love the idea of making money from home, love the idea of being able to run an entire business using just their laptops, love the idea of being able to travel wherever they want whenever they want, yet don’t do what it truly takes to make the dream a reality. These people are wannabepreneurs. They want the lifestyle, but don’t want to take the action steps necessary in order to truly become the Entrepreneur they need to in order to have all that they want.

It’s important to realize that it most definitely is a process, and that most of us aren’t necessarily just born with all of the Entrepreneurial traits necessary to succeed in business. So… today we’re going to discuss 2 key differentiators between true Entrepreneurs, and wannabepreneurs, and how you can know when you’ve starting to, or have truly become the Entrepreneur you need to be in order to succeed.

How To Become An Entrepreneur: The 2 Key Differentiators

  • Differentiator #1: True Entrepreneurs always take complete responsibility over the results they produce, no matter how negative, or positive they may be. I talked about this in more detail in a previous post that you can check out RIGHT HERE…  But in summary: Wannabepreneurs are constantly looking for things outside of themselves to either take them and their business to the next level, or to blame for their lack of results and progress. True entrepreneurs know that the only thing they’ll ever need to succeed is the person they see when they look in the mirror, and they never blame anything outside of themselves when they fail to produce a certain result they were looking for. THEY ALWAYS TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY OVER THEIR ACTIONS, AND THE RESULTS THAT THOSE ACTIONS PRODUCE. 
  • Differentiator #2: True Entrepreneurs never pawn off the responsibility of providing value, where wannabepreneurs are constantly look for a “Done For You” solution or “Business In A Box” that will alleviate the responsibility of providing value. Whether it be through their products and services, simple blog posts such as this one, weekly webinars and hangouts, or even just storytelling, true entrepreneurs are always providing value. Jim Rohn said it best… “We get paid for bringing value to the market place.” True Entrepreneurs understand this, and thus never, ever pawn off the activity of bringing the value. It’s one of, if not the the single most important activity you can embrace as the True Entrepreneur that you are.

In conclusion: While there are MANY differentiators between True Entrepreneurs, and Wannabepreneurs, these two differentiators that we covered today are in my opinion the biggest. Once you can look in the mirror and tell yourself honestly that you take full responsibility over all of your results, no matter how positive or negative, and that you consistently and predictably provide value to the marketplace, you will have stepped into the realm of being a true Entrepreneur, and will be well on your way to whatever goal you may have set.
