Today I want to talk about one of the most important internet marketing strategies that you absolutely MUST IMPLEMENT in your business if you wan’t to have any chance at playing this business on a big, and longterm scale…
… That being, that you absolutely MUST build your business around longterm sustainable INTERNET MARKETING STRATEGIES vs. here today gone tomorrow TACTICS.
If you step back and look at every single individual who has ever gotten to 6, 7, or 8 figures in their business’s, they always focus on building there business around LONGTERM SUSTAINABLE INTERNET MARKETING STRATEGIES, and then compliment those strategies with “here today, gone tomorrow tactics”.
So whats the difference between the two, and what are some examples Misha?
Lets dig in. Long term sustainable internet marketing strategies are things that have been around and have worked for years, and will continue to be around and work for years to come.
Some examples of long-term sustainable internet marketing strategies would be:
- Building Your E-mail List
- Building A Relationship With That E-mail List
- Selling
- Focusing On Consistency In All Of The Above
As you can see, these are CORE STRATEGIES. Things that won’t go away or get torn out from under you anytime soon. Every single successful Marketer builds their e-mail list, builds a relationship with their e-mail list, knows how to sell, and are consistent in implementing all of the core internet marketing strategies listed above.
Some examples of “here today, gone tomorrow tactics”:
- Facebook Ads
- Youtube Marketing
- Instagram Marketing
- Any medium through which you don’t have total control
Now to be clear, I’m NOT TELLING YOU to not use any, or even all of the mediums above. It can be an incredible advantage for you and your business to be able to identify what new medium is “hot”, and to then leverage that medium to COMPLIMENT your core internet marketing strategies.
If you want to get involved with Facebook Ads, that’s awesome, but do it for the sole purpose of BUILDING YOUR E-MAIL LIST. Don’t post a bunch of Facebook ad’s just to build up a Facebook fan page following, post a bunch of Facebook Ads that bring people to your capture page, and build your e-mail list for you.
The biggest thing to realize is that tactics come and go, but if you focus on leveraging those tactics to build upon longterm sustainable internet marketing strategies, you’ll be fine when the “hot tactic” burns out and gets pulled out from underneath you.
There’s a saying, “Marketers ruin everything”… and it’s very true. We find a medium that we can leverage, and then we beat the living hell out of it until it doesn’t work anymore, or we get banned from the medium. Google Adwords is a perfect example. There was a time where you could pretty much just wave a wand at Google, and it would spit out profits if you had even a half decent sales funnel built. Guess what happened? Every marketer in the world started using adwords, and beat em into the ground until Google banned EVERYONE.
And guess what… those Marketers who had been using Google Adwords to compliment there core strategies, to build their list, were fine. Those Marketers who had put all their eggs in one basket, and subdued to the temptation that Adwords brought to the table, thus forgetting to focus on expanding their core strategies through leveraging Adwords were screwed. They went out of business with the death of the “here today, gone tommorow” Google Adwords tactic.
So… remember, while it’s totally fine, and can actually be an advantage to identify and tap into hot new tactics, be sure to always use your tactics to compliment and build upon your core internet marketing strategies that will set you up for longterm success.
